Survey : do you often crashes of your Raspberry Pi ?

sondage2

This morning, my home made NAS server again planted, corrupted SD card, most average to restart without a Kernel Panic. And this is not the first time. At first I thought that I as wondering too little stupid but even by disabling some services it continues. I do not know from where it may come : power, heat, SD card, activity …

Brief, I wondered if I was the only or if you also encounter problems with. You can answer by guest or the small survey right !

    Never !

Okay it says I have a “uptime” from 27 days.. It may be for this

And I add heatsinks thermal on the processor and other components.. The average temperature is of 38 ° C.

After level SD card I have a class 10 and the raspberry has its own power supply…

Is that you put the OS update regularly?

    And firmware ?

    • Hello,
Yes does it 2 or 3 twice a week. For food I have a phone charger that delivers the 700mA and I wonder if it might not come from it. Because even if the USB disk is self powered, I have the ethernet that consumes. It is a track …

    20:15:10 up 47 days, 6:03, 2 users, load average: 1.22, 0.60, 0.48

I do me full steps !

    • Not bad ! 🙂 Quand j’atteinds le même score en heure c’est déjà bien 😉

  • pguilhem

No crash, very stable, does not heat up (without heater).

  • I had rights to two crashes in two weeks, There just unplug replug the power cable. But both times, I launches a large-scale on the Zhao command (a chmod on 800 GB of data for example).

  • Max

Food may actually be involved 700mA is surely a fair bit, I use 1 A minimum and everything is stable (without putting too many devices)

    • The most surprising is that with the B 256 MB model I have no worries. It only comes with model B 512 MB …

  • yDelouis

I had very frequent crashes (at least once a day) and since I disabled ipv6, everything works fine (uptime 1 week for now). I have not tried to deliver the ipv6 to be sure it is ca.
I have a raspberry B 512 MB behind a freebox v5 and a 1.7 alim has without anything plugged it.

  • Paul

Raspberry 512 MB, Server web apache, Server nodejs, phpMyAdmin, XBMC with card wifi alfa500 + Arduino connected USB.
Plant very often after the update warranty / upgrade/rpi-update, card wifi turns off then the display of proc to 100%, have to reboot several times to ensure that everything returns to normal.
    Alim 1 has.
I do not know where this came from.

    • Wow, enough violent anyway. No track with the process that eats the 100% CPU ?

      • Paul

Is not necessarily after a update but ability to crash the wifi card no way to restart even in the disconnect and reconnect the.
I have a question that comes:
After a certain time, connected to the raspberry displayed a screen black I would like to prevent this, would you have an idea?

      • Paul

For processes that eat the 100% I can't find out since by default I have no keyboard or mouse plugged it.
I only have the arduino and my wifi card

  • Paul

    Not ssh since more WiFi

    • Oui pas bête 😀
Rest in this case to try to connect the ethernet cable to connect. Otherwise I have not too much idea

  • Hello,
Good I must be cursed because best crashes all the time …

I do not have it yet overcloacke, However I well migrated the FS / to avoid problems of life from the SD card, to a USB hard drive and I supplies all with the self-powered switch recommended by the community (on mod my pi).
And it is the brothel .. the ssh connection very often crashes (suddenly reboot hardware) as soon as I run for example web server crack this is the freeze (Re - reboot) It happens to me that my file system becomes also the kind could not find any libraries or module .c when I do an apt - get crazy … (reboot yet).
In short I am very disappointed I do not understand what is happening …
In short I am very disappointed

    • Hello,
What is the power used for the Raspberry Pi ? Should be in theory the 700mA. In practice should be more. I went to a tranfo which gives the 2 and any roll.
(very nice site internet perso with the passage)

  • Hello, Thank you for the response and the visit also, I have little passages generally ^^

    • Hello, Thank you for the response and the visit also, with very little text content, I have very little of passage usually.

I powered it by the USB HUB that I bought on Mod My Pi (Article viewed on your site ^^) which has served me well Moreover, basically everything is connected and powered from the USB hub (Hard disk and PI), the power is supplied with the default hub.

I do maybe an error should be at once I power the USB HUB and I supplies the Pi without using the HUB through another socket (I have one provided by RM component I believe but which serves more than kick me it issues still 1200 My on 5 V)

The idea would be to run the website on the pi in fact and in a VM on my desktop pc (my display having crashed Server motherboard …)

      • For me Yes it must be a separate power supply (a phone for example with mini charger 1 has) for something of quality. The HUB may not provide enough especially if you have something trendy top !

        • After double power connection : Power of 2 For the Hub + 1200Ma for the raspberry pi I still have the same problem.
I thought in the beginning you have identified the offending (enabling IP Table which was frozen Pi).
However after deactivation of the latter I have the ssh connection that jumps quite regularly anyway and the web server that sometimes freeze also …
Knowing that the Os is on USB 2.5 HDD″ I do not see what is wrong because it does not come from the SD card that could be corrupt … but I do use more than to boot.

          • I see only a problem with the USB drive. As a first step should keep the system on the SD card and not pass on USB drive when everything works.

  • Boz

Around the House, I didn't have crash (but I just acquire the beast). In the taf (Hey Yes, There are some who play during work hours) It was noted that the Pi was crashing due to the traffic crazy on the hub (It is modern, We, There are hubs! 🙂 )
It is a track. But it is not dug more far. I note the trick to disable IPv6
